However even if I drive for some time, park, turn off engine and try to just listen to music and chill with headlights off, etc, it will display this message within 2 minutes and shut off. Hit power button again without cluch, will be on for maybe 1 minute, then turns off again displaying same message, start engine, works forever. Then charge the battery using a smart charger (Maypole - Amazon, under £25). Make sure you charge the battery on the car. Connect the positive lead directly to the battery terminal. Connect the negative lead to the chassis earth point - NOT the battery negative.
Automotive Mechanic. 40 years of experience. As you probably know, the battery saver mode will come on when there is a problem in the charging system. If the charging system isn’t working, with a new battery you can drive the car for several hours and a couple of dozen re-starts before the voltage gets low enough to cause a problem.
I have a 2015 Ford Fusion Ecoboost SE. I bought it used. My car is saying turn off engine or start ignition this comes on after my car has shut off within about 1-4 minutes into driving. This has been very dangerous. It has happened 5 times Since 08/01/2021. I am also now getting a message saying low key battery replace soon.
Report post. Posted February 11, 2015. I've owned a 2011 Edge since 2011 and when the weather is cold (below 20 degrees) I get a message on my in touch screen that the battery saver system has malfunctioned, restart your engine and turn the ignition off. Doing this gets the same result and I get the battery saver system has malfunctioned again.
Here is a more detailed list of the causes of a Battery Saver Active warning message: 1. Failing Alternator. The alternator is responsible for keeping the battery charged, and it is the most common reason why the Battery Saver Active message comes up. While the engine is running, the alternator will provide a charge to the battery, while also I did find on the 2013 Escape Pre-Delivery Service Record instructions for "Exit battery transport mode" I wonder if doing this would reverse i.e., disable the BS. After the radio shuts down, just press the power button on the radio and it will stay on. Alternatively, after turning off the engine, open the door for a quick sec and then press ZAJh2Wt.
